“Action without vision is only passing time, vision without action is merely day dreaming, but vision with action can change the world.”

- Nelson Mandela

Our Mission

To empower humanitarians of African descent with a platform to develop sustainable projects to progress and improve the quality of life for those living in underserved communities in Africa and the Diaspora.

Our approach

Project Genes1s works closely with partners to address Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) through sustainable development. We collaborate with various organizations to promote access to the five components of SDoH which are (1) economic stability, (2) education, (3) health and healthcare, (4) neighborhood and built environment, and (5) social and community. We do this through our three pillars:

  1. Philanthropy

  2. Genes1s Retreats

  3. Genes1s Initiatives

Philanthropy:

Transparent, accountable, and effective allocation of humanitarian services/resources with the knowledge and understanding of the needs of the communities. These communities will be participating in the utilization of the contributions of the nonprofit activities. The goal is the utilization of philanthropy as a catalyst for positive social change and capacity building.

Genes1s Retreats:

The intent of Genes1s retreats is to inspire, plan, and organize first generational African diaspora to invest energy, time, and resources in Africa. The weekend retreats will focus on the development of new solutions or change initiatives. These events are inclusive, collaborative efforts, with the objective to identify skills and expertise. Participants will increase their knowledge, understanding and preparedness by identifying topics, resources and areas where specific projects will take place in throughout African communities. Each participant will prepare a framework of implementation (plan of action, “PAC”) to be used for their specific projects. At the end of the retreats, each participant would know what will be needed and how they will go about implementing their project to attain maximum success.

Genes1s Initiatives:

As an external “change agent,” Project Genes1s will assist by synchronizing the collective community visions with some Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)/Partners to achieve and enhance sustainable development. Project Genes1s will solicit and work with partners to access resources and funding to initiate, continue or support community-led development projects in order to achieve equitable communities; and sustain thriving societies in Africa.
